Where Land In Excess Of Upper Ceiling Is Acquired
(1) If a land acquired by a person or his family as a landowner by way of partition or succession or by virtue of the change of river course and the aggregate of that land and the land, if any, he/she owns prior thereto exceeds the upper ceiling prescribed in Section 7, such person shall submit to the prescribed authority an inventory as prescribed, within Thirty five days of the acquisition of such land. Provided that, the prescribed authority may, if it deems expedient to extend the time limit on an application of the concerned person, give an additional time limit not exceeding Seven days. (2) The prescribed authority shall, on submission of an inventory by any person pursuant to Sub-section (1), proceed action pursuant to in Sections 14 and 15 in respect of such landowner and land, as well.
